Parts of speech, punctuation, capitalization. Cause and effect, sequential order, main idea. Sentence analysis and paragraph development. Plot, setting, character, theme, drama, poetry.

MATH

Quantity and numeral association. Estimating and word problems, skip counting, decimal hierarchy to millions. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Plane geometric figures, lines and angles. Telling time. Money value associations and purchasing equations. Measurement in length, weight, and volume. Graphs and charts.

SCIENCE

Biological classifications, structure, functions and relationships. Environmental adaptations, ecosystems, and co-dependency. Formation of earth, rocks and minerals. GEOGRAPHY

Land and water formations. Identifying continents, countries, states, cities, oceans, seas, lakes, rivers and mountain ranges. Climate zones, tundra, dessert, wetlands, savannas, and various kinds of forests. Cultural studies. Flags

HISTORY

Concept of time, how it is measured and recorded. The fundamental needs of humans and how they have been met over the centuries. Development of civilization.

Computer

Word processing. Spread sheets. Supplement and enhancement to instruction in each academic area.

Music

Rhythm, tone and pitch. Notes of the scale and keyboard introduction. Reading and writing music. Identification of various classical composers and their most famous works. Orchestral instruments and their classification by families.

Art

Creative expression through a wide variety of mediums. Exploration of form, perspective, balance and composition. Identification of various artistic movements, famous artists and their works.
